In the Yekaterinburg circus an elephant died on tour. The elephant arrived to Ural capital with the circus company of Zapashny brothers.

In Yekaterinburg the animal?s state of health abruptly worsened, and the elephant died almost immediately. The Yekaterinburg circus director Anatoly Marchevsky said, that the elephant was ill for quite a long time, and its death is not connected with Ural frost. "He was 30 years old already. In wild nature animal life is often shorter. I don`t know why he died, but the elephant was ill for about six years. He probably had bad inheritance. The veterinarians maintained his life with medicines. He didn`t participated in the Zapashys performance, he just traveled with the animals as he was used to", told Anatoly Marchevsky.

The biggest problem for the circus administration is to take out and bury the elephant.

According to Marchevsky, only 3 or 4 animals has died in the circus in the recent years, and they were rather small - dogs and monkeys. The staff couldn`t remember that some elephant died in the circus.

According to Anatoly Marchevsky, the city motor-transport depot is to settle the problems with taking the animal?s body out of the circus. But before medical examination in order to identify the cause of death is to take place. The Zapashnys performances are to take place without changes.
