The head of Barack Obama said on the first day of the week that he is ready for a diplomatic solution to Ukraine, but considers possible new sanctions against Russia.

" I still prefer a diplomatic solution to Ukraine. I believe it still could happen, " said Obama.

" But if Russia continues to violate the sovereignty of Ukraine, support of the separatists - and these separatists become nowadays more and more dangerous and now pose a risk not only for people in Ukraine, but also for the entire international brotherhood - then Russia will only further isolating itself from the international brotherhood, and the cost of Russian behavior will only continue to grow, " Obama said, speaking with a statement at the White house."
