Russian ruble will soon have its own symbol, the chairman of the State Duma civil, arbitral and procedural legislation Committee Pavel Krasheninnikov announced at the press conference on Monday.

"Literally ten minutes ago we have come to an agreement that Russian ruble should have its special symbol soon", said Krasheninnikov. "For this an amendment to Article 140 of Civil Code about national currency will be made. Later, special commission attached to Russian President`s Administration will be established, which will consider variants of symbol of ruble".
