BookStats: book sales in the US has not increased
The total volume of realization of books in the U.S. in 2013, remained at the same level, a decline not more than 1%: from $27, 12 billion in 2012 and $27, 01. Statistics BookStats based on information from the American Association of publishers and research group Book Industry. Information was gathered from more than a thousand organizations, and then emerged from the market as a whole.

Sales in the segment of books for a wide audience (trade books) fell by 2, 3% to

$14, 63 billion. at the same time, in the other three major segments Sales increased. So, sales of scientific and professional literature were by 1, 3% higher

than in 2012, and the Magnitude of the implementation of literature for universities increased by 1, 1% to $4, 34 billion. Sale of literature for children of preschool and school age has increased by 3, 4% to $4, 41 billion.

As for the segment of trade books, inside sales growth was observed only in the category of non-fiction literature for adults: 5, 4% to $4, 65 billion.
