This Wednesday, 2 days before start of winter Olympic Games in Torino, solemn ceremony of Russian flag hoisting took place in Olympic village.

"Everything was solemnly. 3 teams participated in ceremony - Russia, Romania and Hungary. There were 70-80 people from Russian side, including representatives of skating and female hockey team", - said deputy chief of Russian sport delegation at Olympiad-2006 Igor Kazikov.

The ceremony of state flag hoisting was not a long one and was held according to set scenario. "The mayor of Olympic village Jordano Bruno performed a speech, handed the torch, which was used during Olympic fire relay-race. We presented our souvenirs to Italians. Then Russian flag was hoisted and Russian anthem was heard", - informed Kazikov.

Opening ceremony of XX winter Olympiad in Torino will be held on February 10.
