Russian State Duma has passed new edition of law "About advertising" in first reading, regulating relations on the Russian market of advertising.
The draft law defines general requirements to advertising, ways of its distribution, certain goods advertising restrictions, basics of self-regulation and government control in this field. Such terms as "advertisement", "advertiser", "sponsor" are defined more accurately. The requirements to "umbrella brands" are made tougher. The article aimed to minors protection from advertising influence is introduced. Advertising on copy-books and in textbooks are not allowed.
The draft law establishes several restrictions on television advertising. In 2006-2007 advertising time must take maximum 20% per hour, and advertising block must not exceed 4 minutes. Advertising time is restricted to 15 % of broadcasting time per day.
Since 2008 advertising time must not exceed 15% per hour, and day advertising volume must not exceed 15% of broadcasting time per day. Besides advertisement in children`s and educational programs is also reglamented. sections: Politics, Society, Region News areas: Central region |
