Russian Ministry of Defense demands apologies from Tbilisi Russian Ministry of Defense insists on official explanation from Tbilisi about institution of criminal proceedings against Russian officers detained by Georgian authorities in Kurta settlement.

This was announced by official representative of Ministry of Defense Vyacheslav Sedov. Moreover, he noted that "Russian Ministry of Defense demands Georgian authorities to return confiscated documents of Russian officers and to present official apologies".

By words of Sedov, Russian defense agency regards actions of Georgian authorities towards Russian officers "as non-contributory to stabilization of situation in Tsinval region".

"Provocation of Georgian authorities testifies an uncivilized approach of Tbilisi in solution of existent problems", - said Sedov. Therefore, Georgian authorities have illegally confiscated documents of Russian servicemen, including identity cards of officers, which is the violation of Russian legislation.
