The message about closing flights over Siberia caused stocks to fall EU airlines
After receipt of messages on consideration in the Russian Federation the possible closure of airspace over Siberia, there is a decline of quotations of the major European airlines.
Thus, shares in Finnair, the largest air carrier operating the flight from Northern Europe to Asia decreased by 5, 6%, shares of Air France-KLM fell by 3, 8%, while British Airways lost 2, 9%, informs ABC News. According to independent analyst in the field of aviation, Robert Mann, carriers have the ability to deal with the problem of increasing the duration of flights and great expenses, if Russia will prohibit European airlines to use the airspace. Routes that pass through Russian territory, have the opportunity to be cancelled. Change of routes will mean the need of intermediate landings for refueling, which will create significant inconvenience to the passengers. Now, stresses the magazine, Russia has the right to legitimate reason to go to the closure of airspace. Media first reported that Russian officials discuss the restriction or ban the transit of European airlines flying from Europe to Asia through the territory of Russia. In addition, Russia could freeze some Charter flights from the EU to change the TRANS-Siberian Routes and close airspace for the transit of Ukrainian air carriers in response to punishment, adopted by the European Union regarding the airline " Dobrolet ". Remember, " Dobrolet " was included in the sanctions list of the EU as a Firm that performs flights between Moscow and Simferopol and on Sunday said about temporary suspension of all flights.
