In Murmansk region such kinds of tourism is well developed like sport fishing, skiing in Khibiny. At the same time, many other directions of tourism are poorly developed or not developed at all, said Ilona Zatonskaya, the deputy chairman of the Committee for Culture, Sport and Tourism in Murmansk region.

According to her, diving, eco tours with hiking and hunting, culture cognitive tourism (attending museums, theatres, local points of interest ) are underestimated and not paid attention to. Ethnographical peculiarities oа the region are little used: culture of saami folk in Lovozersky district, coast-dwellers` everyday life in Tersky district.

Motor ship tours from Murmansk to Solovky could become a perspective direction.
Totally, there are about 70 tourist companies, where 400 people are working on continuing basis, and 400 people are working on free-lance basis.
