Chechen president Alu Alkhanov introduced candidature of Ramzan Kadyrov for approval of Chechen National Assembly.

Since November of 2005 till present time Ramzan Kadyrov fulfilled duties of Chechen parliament chairman because head of parliament Sergey Abramov got into traffic accident and was undergoing medical treatment. On February 28, 2006 Sergey Abramov gave a notice of resignation from post of Chechen premier-minister.
