The Patriarch asks the UN, the Council of Europe and OSCE to protect the Christians of Ukraine
Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill addressed the UN, the Council of Europe and the OSCE with a call to protect Orthodox Christians in the East of Ukraine, where there are combat operations, informs on Tuesday, the press service of the Department for external Church relations (DECR) of the Moscow Patriarchate.

" The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church agitating leaders of the UN, Council of Europe and OSCE to raise their own authoritative voice in defense of Orthodox Christians in Eastern Ukraine ", - said in the report.

in their letter, the Patriarch expressed the hope that " the highest international organizations will not remain indifferent to the problems faced by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church - ogromneishee religious organization of Ukraine, which, not being politically biased force in the harshest conditions continues to provide pastoral care for millions of believers."

The Patriarch emphasized the leadership of international organizations on the deaths of priests in the area of special operations in the South-East of Ukraine, violence against clergy of the UOC-MP and attempts to foment fear and oppression of the clergy. The Patriarch said that because of the clashes temples and monasteries, which became a refuge for many thousands of immigrants, was dealt a heavy material damage.
