New Russian ambassador entrusts credentials to President of Byelorussia The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Russia to Byelorussia Aleksandr Surikov has entrusted the credentials to the President of Republic Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Reportedly, in the course of the solemn ceremony Surikov reminded about high results of two countries in the field of integration. The diplomat said that he would continue the work, directed toward further integration and interaction of Byelorussia and Russia.

"I confidently declare, that close cooperation, the strong friendship, common historical and intellectual values of two nations will contribute to the acceleration of works on construction of union state", emphasized the ambassador.

Aleksandr Lukashenko in his turn noted that the new leader of the diplomatic mission " will never have problems in Belarus` on any questions: economic, diplomatic, political ".

On Monday Lukashenko has also accepted the credentials from the ambassadors of Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.

Aleksandr Surikov was assigned to the post of ambassador in Byelorussia by the Russian Federation President`s Decree dated 6 February, 2006.
