Perfectly preserved remains of one of the historic vessels lie at a depth of 11 meters in Victoria Strait, near the island of king William. They have been studied using a remotely controlled underwater vehicle.

The mystery of the missing expedition excites the imagination, for many generations, because no one understands exactly what happened to the crew. Now the scientific community hopes that the unique event will help to shed light on one of the mysteries of history.
