Poroshenko: Ukraine passed in the Council of the EU Association agreement

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament on Tuesday ratified the Association agreement between Kyiv and Brussels, it must begin to be used from 1 November 2014. However, Russia, Ukraine and the EU agreed that the implementation of the agreement regarding the establishment of the free trade zone will be delayed until 1 January 2016. Throughout the period of execution of this consensus Russia promised not to introduce measures to protect its economy, including import duties on items from Ukraine.


Among the goals of the Treaty of Union Between Ukraine and the EU: the development of the Association, the gradual rapprochement Between Ukraine and the EU on the basis of shared values, deepening economic and trade relations, the strengthening of cooperation in the field of justice, freedom and security.

the priority is the economic component. Close attention is paid to the position of the free trade area between Ukraine and the EU (FTA), which should provide a gradual economic integration of Ukraine into the EU internal market. Part of the contract involves the establishment of principles of cooperation in several sectors: energy, industrial policy and entrepreneurship, taxation, tourism and others. Also, determine the mechanism and the way of Ukraine's getting financial assistance from the EU.

The entire contract consists of more than 1000 pages, and its structure consists of a preamble, seven parts, 43 applications and three protocols. Priorities are economic aspects of the contract.
