Russian banks in the 3rd quarter of this year revealed 18, 563 thousands of counterfeit banknotes, 9, 7% more than in the same period of 2013, according to information on the Internet office of the Bank of Russia.

Leaders in the number of fakes were bills of five thousand and the only thousand - 13, 916 thousand and 4, 192 thousands of counterfeit banknotes, respectively. In comparison with the same period of 2013 the number of detected counterfeit five thousandth of banknotes increased by more than 2 times, while the false banknotes one thousand rubles identified 33, 7% less.

The banknotes of other denominations fake much less: in the 3rd quarter of banks revealed 338 fake 500-ruble banknotes, false 60 100-Rublevo, 12 fake 50-Rublevo, 3 fake paper ten ruble notes, 3 ten coins and 39 fakes Petrusevich coins.

The three leaders by the number of detected counterfeit banknotes are Central Federal district (11, 977 thousand), North-Western Federal district (2, 085 thousand pieces) and the Volga Federal district (1, 449 thousand).

The main object of the fraud of foreign banknotes remain US dollars in the 3rd quarter was revealed 479 fake dollar notes. The number of fake Euro amounted to 32 pieces, also found one fake Ukrainian hryvnia and the fake one pound sterling.
