The Minister of foreign Affairs of Italy, the high Commissioner of the EU in international relations, politics and security Federica Mogherini discussed with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko execution of the Minsk agreements in the early elections of parliaments and heads of self-proclaimed republics of DND and LNR, informs the press service of Poroshenko on Wednesday.

" Mogherini stressed the importance of implementation by all parties of the Minsk agreements, commitments which were confirmed during a multilateral meeting in Milan. In this context, Federica Mogherini noted that paragraph 9 of the Minsk minutes dated September 5, eliminates the conduct of any election in the square of Donbass, which are in conflict with the Ukrainian legislation ", - informs the press-service.

in addition, the head of Ukraine thanked Mogherini for a clear position in relation to the 2 November elections and tried to convince the EU to act more decisively in the event of a breach of the Minsk agreements."

along with this Mogherini stressed the importance of reaching common decisions during the tripartite gas consultations between Ukraine, Russia and the EU, and congratulated Poroshenko with democratic elections to the Parliament and expressed hope for further joint work.

LNR and DND intend to elect the heads of the republics and parliaments November 2, despite published by the Kyiv law on the special status of Donbass, which provides for the holding of local elections in the area on 7 December.
