Amazon vs Hachette: war letters continues

In response to a two-page letter on behalf 900 writers, published in the Sunday new York times, the Company Amazon has made a proposal to the authors and readers to write a letter to the guide Hachette Book Group. Team Amazon Book Team compares the current position of the market of electronic books with the emergence of a market for books in the cover: as if, as then, the new format is opposed to the literary establishment, despite the lower cost of such books.

in a statement, Amazon Book Team reported that e-books can cost $9, 99 and that Hachette is not going to make concessions in the battle for lower prices. Because of this, Amazon offers readers and authors interested in lower prices for e-books and the increasing demand for books in General, to write letters to the CEO HBG Michael, Pitchu (Michael Pietsch).

Michael Pitch in response to the authors decided to follow the advice of Amazon, said that he was glad they desire to protect the culture of reading and books in General. He said that 80% of e-books sold Hachette, cost no more than $9, 99. If some e-books cost more ( " the overwhelming majority of them costs $11, 99 or $12, 99 ), then they end up much cheaper than the printed originals.

According to Michael Pitsa, the conflict between Hachette and Amazon is not the desire Hachette leave high prices for e-books, and with the desire Amazon to gain an even stronger position on the market at the expense of authors and traditional book outlets, and also due to the publishers. Pitch also tried to convince to stop the " punishment " against Hachette Book Group.
