Minsk tried to convince to expand cooperation between the countries of the CEI and the EEU
Nina Gurin. Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei tried to convince member countries of the Central European proposals (CEI) to expand cooperation with the Eurasian economic Union.

The CEI was established in 1989 As an organization designed to promote the development of sustainable relationships between the States of Central, Western and Eastern Europe in the fields of politics, economy and culture. Members are 18 countries: Austria, Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic.

As the press service of the foreign Ministry of Belarus, during a working visit to Vienna Makei took part in the summit of heads of government of the CEI, which were discussed topical issues of cooperation in the framework of the proposals, as well as its interaction with other regional and international organizations.

" in my own view at the summit of the CEI, the head of the Belarusian Ministry of foreign Affairs drew attention to the importance of continuing and further strengthening of regional cooperation in order to prevent the emergence of new dividing lines in the European Union, called for expansion of relations CEI with other regional organizations, including the CIS and the Eurasian economic Union, " the statement reads.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan in may, has already signed and ratified the Treaty establishing the Eurasian economic Union from 1 January 2015 10 October in Minsk signed an agreement to connect to Armenia.
