The largest mobile operators in Ukraine, Kyivstar, MTS and "life" has acquired licenses for 3G connectivity.

The third mobile Operator Astelit (TM life: )) became the winner of the contest on the first of the three lots, with a recommendation for license 3, 355 billion hryvnia (about $ 137 million) with a starting price of 2, 708 billion hryvnia (about 104 million).

According to UNIAN, the approved document calls for tender for the right to obtain licenses for fifteen years in all regions of Ukraine consists of three lots at the same time. The document also notes that operators will need for 18 months after the competition to launch the network of the 3rd generation within all regional centers of Ukraine, and over 6 years within all regional centers and all settlements with a population of more than 10 thousand people.
