The European Union said that " concerned about the situation in Crimea "
Vladimir Dobrovolsky. The European Union in circulation in connection with the anniversary of the return of the Crimea to Russia expressed concern about the "military buildup" and the situation with human rights in the Peninsula.

"The EU recalls its deep concern at the continued military buildup and the deteriorating situation of human rights in the Crimean Peninsula, including the denial of freedom of expression and harassment of persons belonging to minorities," according to the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini on behalf of the EU, which was adopted at the meeting of foreign Ministers of member countries of the European Union.

The European Union also advocates " to provide international human rights defenders full, free and unimpeded access to the entire territory of Ukraine, including Crimea and Sevastopol.

Sevastopol and the Crimea became the Russian regions according to the results of the March referendum in which an overwhelming number of voters voted for secession from Ukraine and reunification with Russia. The US, EU and partner countries do not recognize the reunification of Russia and the Crimea, they have introduced penalties against parts of commissioners of the Russian Federation and organizations. The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin first called the West's reaction to the annexation of Crimea to Russia totally disproportionate to what it was, because the norms of international law were not violated.
