The head of Barack Obama believes that the EU should keep the penalties against Russia before the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
"My deep conviction that the EU must keep punishment (against Russia) as long as we won't see full implementation of the Minsk agreements," Obama said at a press conference on results of negotiations with the Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi.
According to the President of the United States, at the upcoming EU summit, all participants will send a signal to Russia that the penalties will not be weakened until, until will not be done "key steps" in this direction.
The summit of the heads of the EU countries at the end of March made a political decision to link the effect of economic penalties against Russia's full implementation of the Minsk agreements and clarified, because it is only planned by 31 December 2015.
