During a telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin and Mali's transitional leader Assimi Goita discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and security.
The sides agreed to work together to maintain stability in the West African region, as well as to expand dialogue and strengthen partnership ties between the states.
Goita expressed gratitude to Russia for its assistance in the security sphere and in countering terrorist threats.
It will be recalled that the head of Mali's transitional period visited Moscow in June last year. Then, following talks with the Russian president, documents were signed that cemented the foundations of relations and cooperation in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
