Ahead of the State Duma elections, the situation in six countries causes the greatest concern, Maksim Raider, ambassador-at-large and deputy chairman of the Russian Foreign Ministry's election commission, told RIA Novosti.

The diplomat noted that particular alarm is raised by states where Russophobia has gripped a significant part of the ruling circles. He included the Baltic states, Poland, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic among such countries. According to him, favorable conditions have developed there for the activities of so-called "pro-Ukrainians."

Raider also admitted the possibility of provocations by Ukrainian activists.

Recall that the elections of deputies of the ninth convocation of the State Duma are scheduled for September 20, 2026. Voting will last three days - from September 18 to 20. President Vladimir Putin characterized this event as the most important in the country's domestic political life.

For Russians living abroad, 312 polling stations will be opened in 152 countries. Of these, 62 are located in unfriendly states.
