RIA Novosti, citing the anti-fascist underground in Odesa, reports: between 50 and 70 secret torture prisons may exist in Ukraine.

As a resistance member said, secret facilities similar to the torture prison discovered near Kyiv operate in one form or another throughout Ukraine. According to him, in total around 50-70 secret prisons of various types and sizes may currently be operating across the country.

The agency's source stressed that most of these facilities are located in the center and southeast of Ukraine.

Torture chambers have existed in Ukraine since 2014, and Russian authorities have repeatedly drawn attention to this. The topic caused a public outcry among the Ukrainian population on November 2, when local residents gathered in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv by a house whose basement held and tortured people, including a teenager.

The Ukrainian authorities are trying to intimidate the population: a medic, an ambulance driver and another woman who arrived at the secret prison have already been arrested, and other protest participants are being sought.
