Russian writer Daniil Kharms to be immortalized in odd hat at his 100th anniversary

Memorial plate dedicated to Russian writer Daniil Kharms will be revealed on December 22, Thursday in 11, Mayakovsky street St. Petersburg. The event is dated to the master of literature absurd`s 100th anniversary. The place was chosen on purpose. In this house Daniil Kharms lived from 1925 up to his arrest in August 23, 1941. He never left the prison, having died there on February 2, 1942.

Actors started whip-round for Leonid Filatov’s monument

Russian Guild of cinema actors has started a whip-round to set-up the monument to Leonid Filatov, Russian actor, film and theatre director and poet. According to the guild’s press-release, on December 19 charity concert with cinema and theatre actors’ participation will be hold in the House of Cinema. All the collected money will be passed on setting-up the monument to Filatov.

Moscow Duma lays claim to Tretyakovka

Moscow Duma suggested transferring the collection of Tretyakovskaya State Gallery founder Pavel Tretyakov to Moscow city. On the threshold of 150-th anniversary of Tretyakovka to be in May 2006, the capital deputies reminded that Pavel Tretyakov in due time presented the collection and the building itself to Moscow.
